Book Discussion -  InnerWill: Developing Better People, Braver Leaders, and a Wiser World through the Practice of Values Based Leadership

The Senior Staff SIG loves a good book discussion, and we invite you to take part in what we expect to be the best one yet.  Dr. Tom Epperson will join us for a conversation about his brand-new book, InnerWill: Developing Better People, Braver Leaders, and a Wiser World through the Practice of Values Based Leadership.

On April 19, we’ll dive into some of his key points, and discuss ways that we can all leverage these skills in our own teams, organizations, and families – by starting with effective leadership of ourselves.  Tom is a familiar face to many, as he and his team have worked closely with a number of associations in the Commonwealth.  Whether you’ve had the opportunity to work with him previously, or this will be your first chance to meet him, it’s one we hope you’ll take.  He will not only offer tremendous wisdom and relentless optimism, but he will challenge our thinking in necessary ways.

You can purchase the book here (Kindle, hardcover, and paperback versions are available).  As always, there is no charge for you to attend, but we do ask that you register in advance. You can attend in-person or virtually.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Tom is the President of InnerWill Leadership Institute and has over twenty years of experience as a leadership coach, facilitator, and speaker, and regularly works with clients to help transform leaders and their organizations. He is a certified business coach and has a Doctorate in Leadership from The George Washington University. Tom is currently an adjunct instructor in Virginia Commonwealth Universities’ Executive MBA Program. Tom believes that leadership is a choice, not a title, and that our responsibility as leaders is to make a positive difference in the lives of those around us.

Tom balances high expectations of himself and others with relentless optimism about the ability of individuals to make our organizations, families, and communities amazing places to live, work, and grow. He believes that leadership is a powerful force for good in the world, if we choose to do so; his personal mission in life is to help others develop the skills to make that choice more often than not. Tom works hard to be a great husband and father; he’s married to a strong, creative woman and has two fantastic boys who have taught him that we can learn as much about ourselves and our leadership at home as we can at work.
