Join us this December 6 as our association community comes together to recognize this year's recipients of VSAE’s Awards of Excellence, and celebrate the holiday season!

Looking to snag a great gift for a loved one, friend, or yourself while also supporting a good cause? Proceeds from the silent auction will benefit VSAE’s education fund, which supports VSAE's ability to provide a wide range of professional development programs for members throughout the year, and the Richmond Animal Leaguean organization committed to saving the lives of animals and finding loving homes for pets for over 45 years

In addition to the Silent Auction and in the spirit of this giving season, we will collect non-perishable food items to donate to FeedMore. Bring a couple of cans or boxes from your pantry with you on the day of the event. 



Live and Silent Auctions

There will be three (3) different auctions - online silent, in-person silent, and in-person live. What's the difference?

  • Online Silent - items will be visible on our auction website for viewing and bidding. Items include food & beverage items, hotel stays in and outside Virginia, merchandise, tickets for activities, tours, attractions, and so much more. Past bidders will receive an email notifying them when the online silent auction opens. Anyone can bid on these items.
  • In-Person Silent - for the shopper who likes to get up close to items, this is for you. A handful of basket items will be auctioned on Friday, December 6. Although these items will be visible on the auction website, only registered bidders in attendance may bid on them. Winning bidders must take their baskets home with them the same day.
  • In-Person Live - known as Grand Prize Live Auction items, these curated destination packages open for bidding just after the luncheon begins at 12:00 pm on Friday, December 6. Our live auctioneer will describe each package and begin the bidding. Winning bidders will be contacted by the donors via email after the event with details on how to collect their prize.

  • This event is open to both members and non-members. Registration closes Monday, December 2nd at 5 pm.
  • To register a non-member guest that has not attended a VSAE event before and that you are paying for, complete your registration form and click 'Register Guest'. Once you've completed registering everyone, click the 'Next' button. Once you submit your registration form, you cannot make any changes to your form. Contact the VSAE office if you need assistance.
  • Guests who are paying for themselves OR who have attended a past VSAE event must register themselves online.
  • No refunds for cancellations. Substitutions are allowed by emailing [email protected] before Friday, November 22.

Schedule of Events 

  • Friday, November 15 - the last day to donate items for the online and in-person silent auctions. Donating ends at 5:00 PM EST.

  • Monday, November 18 - view live and silent (both online and in-person) auction items. Bidding begins on the online auction site, excluding live and in-person auction (baskets) items.

  • Monday, December 2 - online bidding ends at 5:00 PM EST; donors and winning bidders will be sent email notifications to coordinate item pick-up.

  • Friday, December 6 - Awards Luncheon & Silent Auction at the Hilton Richmond Hotel & Spa at Short Pump

    • 9:30-10:30 am - Past Presidents Breakfast
    • 10:30 am - Registration Opens
    • 10:30-11:45 am - Reception, 50/50 Raffle, and Silent Auction (baskets only)
    • 11:30 am - Luncheon room opens
    • 12:00 pm-1:15 pm - Silent Auction ends and Awards Luncheon & Live Auction begin

Accommodations 

The room block at Hilton Richmond Hotel & Spa at Short Pump is offering a special single & double rate of $129/night, triple rate of $139/night, and a quad rate of $149/night plus taxes for reservations made by 5 pm on November 15. Instructions for making your reservation are included in your registration confirmation email.

Donations

Who can donate? Anyone! All VSAE Executive and Associate Members and organizations, as well as Non-members may donate.  

Are there any restrictions on what I can donate? 

  • No, but BE CREATIVE!
  • There is a set minimum retail value of $75 for each donation.
  • Any organization or individual may donate as many items as they'd like. 
  • A limited number of baskets will be visible on the auction website but will only be available for bidding at the Awards Luncheon. The cut-off to accept basket donations is Friday, November 15Walk-up donations will not be accepted.

I'm not sure what to donate, can you provide suggestions? Popular items include food & beverage packages, hotel stays with activities, and tickets to shows/attractions/tours. Feel free to contact Dana ([email protected]) if you can't remember what you donated last year or have specific questions.

What if I don't have an item to donate with a minimum value of $75? To increase participation, a Silent Auction Fund has been established. Those who contribute to the fund will be listed in the VSAE newsletter and on the event's auction website. Go to our auction website and select Monetary Donation to make your contribution.
