Community Service: FeedMore Community Kitchen

In 2005, the Central Virginia Food Bank and Meals on Wheels came together to build a joint kitchen, appropriately named the Community Kitchen, to cost effectively create cooked-from-scratch meals for children, families and seniors across Central Virginia.

The state-of-the-art Sara and Steve Bayard Community Kitchen is where our highly-skilled team and dedicated volunteers prepare and cook nutritious meals for thousands of vulnerable children, seniors and homebound individuals across Central Virginia.  Every day more than 3,000 healthy meals are prepared for our Kids CafeSummer Food Service Program and Meals on Wheels programs, along with a handful of adult day care facilities in our community. For more information about Community Kitchen, click here.

Volunteers will be assisting the Community Kitchen with preparing sandwiches, packing, food prep, cleaning or other tasks as assigned by staff.
