7.0 CAE Credits

Monday, September 11
Day 1:

9:00-10:00 AM Welcome & Introductions
We begin the day by getting to know and connect with one another. This will create a foundation for our retreat interactions. (CAE 1.00)

10:00-11:30 AM “Embrace Your Unknowns” (CAE 1.50)
Participants will engage in an exploration of their organizations’ “unknowns” – what they know they don’t know, and what implications these areas of uncertainty have for the organization’s strategy. Common themes across these unknowns will serve as a connection point for learning and discussions across the retreat.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand how identifying areas of uncertainty builds a foundation for future organizational success.
  • Begin to create connections to build a trusting peer group willing to engage in honest discussions and look to one another for effective practices and new ideas.

12:45-3:45 PM “What, So What, and Now What? Insights, Strategy and Governance for Organization Agility and Resilience” (CAE 3.00)
We will introduce the concept of an intersection between insights, strategy, and governance, and how these elements form the critical core of organization agility and resilience. Participants will delve into why – and how – to generate effective insights. Next, we’ll take a deep dive into strategy, including internal points of tension that keep your organization from successfully executing its strategy.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the importance of true insights: asking the right questions and including the right people and perspectives in the conversation.
  • Understand the elements of dynamic strategic planning, and how organizational tensions might hinder strategic progress.
  • Discover and experiment with new tools and activities that can help your organization perfect operational practices around insights and strategy.

Tuesday, September 12
Day 2:

9:00-11:00 AM “Peer Discussion: Group Wisdom to Address the Tough Questions” (CAE 2.00)
Once this group has had the opportunity to get to know one another, create connections, and build trust, we’ll leverage this trusting environment to entertain tough questions. Participants will be invited to introduce topics and challenges for which they do not have answers and call upon their peers and the collective wisdom of the group to share best practices and generate new ideas.

Learning objectives:

  • Through asking insightful questions, listening to the experiences of others, and some introspective thinking.
  • Discover possible solutions to their organizations’ challenges.
  • Identify new considerations on the horizon they should be thinking about.
