 Association Boards and Technological Harm

The recent global explosion of interest and adoption of so-called "generative AI" and its enabled tools creates complex and serious new questions for association boards. As the growing use of these tools accelerates, boards must be prepared to fulfill their responsibility to safeguard their organizations, stakeholders, and successors from technological harm. In this 90-minute interactive session, participants will learn about the critical risks and harms of emerging technologies and what actions their association boards must take to address them.

After attending this session, participants will be able to:

  • Explain "generative AI," its enabled tools, and other emerging technologies of concern.
  • Address the critical risks and harms of emerging technologies and their implications for associations.
  • Help their boards act on the responsibility to safeguard their organizations, stakeholders, and successors from technological harm.

Format: Both in-person and virtual

Charity

The VSAE Community Service Committee has selected EnCircle as the charity raffle recipient this month. The people of EnCircle educate students who need additional supports, empower people with developmental disabilities through a variety of community-based services, support children in foster care and foster parents, and provide mental health counseling to children, youth, and adults. We are also part of a network of agencies that reunites unaccompanied immigrant children with family or sponsors in the United States.

EnCircle is recruiting and training foster parents in the Richmond and Tidewater areas. Our program provides financial compensation, training, and full-time support. Your commitment can be short or long-term — you decide! All you need is the desire to help a child. We do the rest!

Raffle Ticket Prize: Overnight stay with breakfast for 2 at the Virginia Crossings Hotel & Conference Center, Tapestry Collection by Hilton.
