Join us as we start the new year with our annual presentation from Dr. Robert Holsworth, who will share what can be learned from the 2020 election and what this might mean for the country and the Commonwealth going forward. He will also give a preview of the upcoming General Assembly session. This year his remarks will be followed by a roundtable discussion of the challenges of lobbying during the pandemic.

VA Political Outlook Presentation

Dr. Robert Holsworth is a Managing Partner of DecideSmart, a company that focuses on enabling innovation to succeed. His observations on national and Virginia politics have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, the New York Times, and numerous other papers and news magazines. Dr. Holsworth was the founding Director of both the Center for Public Policy and the Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs at Virginia Commonwealth University. He was the Executive Director of the Governor’s Commission on Efficiency and Effectiveness. He has been the Director of the Virginia Executive Institute and Co-Staff Director of the Commission on the Future of Virginia’s Urban Areas, a gubernatorial commission that examined how Virginia’s urban areas could become flourishing parts of regional economies.
