Dive deep into the full process of choosing and implementing a new Association Management System (AMS) at the November  Monthly Luncheon & Seminar on Friday, November 3, at DoubleTree by Hilton Richmond-Midlothian. Moira Edwards, CAE will present “Choosing the Right AMS for Your Association,” a thorough exploration of each step in the process, identifying core tasks and highlighting the wisdom of what to do and what to avoid at each stage. Attendees will emerge with a draft project plan, including who to include in the project, the specific steps to take, a draft timeline, and a list of available systems that might suit their association.

Specifically, attendees will look at: 

  • Requirements gathering
  • Business process evaluation
  • Vendor evaluation & selection
  • Change management
  • System configuration, testing & launch
  • Vendor relationship maintenance 

During lunch, Moira will present, “5 Top Trends Impacting Association Technology." Some associations are beginning to focus on the use of innovative new technologies including artificial intelligence, virtual reality, interactive voice response, and blockchain technology. Others are ramping up their technology foundations through cloud-based solutions, stronger data analytics, and integrated online learning. Linking the two are human-centered concepts such as design thinking, usability, and personalization. In this presentation, we will take a tour through the five most urgent of these concepts to be prepared for what’s coming next.

Moira Edwards, CAE is the President of Ellipsis Partners and focuses on the impact of technology on organizational strategy. She joined Ellipsis Partners after 15 years as an association staffer and leader. Moira volunteers with ASAE and is the current Chair of the Technology Council.

  • Staff & Non-Member Attendance. Staff of a member or a non-member is limited to attending 3 meetings per year.
  • Luncheon Pass. A member's “Get Out of Jail Free” pass is only worth $14 and is therefore not valid for on-site registrations.
  • Cancellation Policy.
    • Cancellations must be received in writing.  Email to cancel your registration.
    • Pre-registrations for lunch who cancel after Tuesday before the meeting or fail to attend will be invoiced for a late cancellation or no-show fee of $14.
