project: HOMES

How they build a better community...
project:HOMES improves the lives and living conditions of low-income seniors, disabled residents and qualified homeowners in Central Virginia by making critical home repairs and improvements and by building high quality, affordable homes.

Join the Renew Crew
The Renew Crew is the volunteer program of project:HOMES comprised of more than 900 volunteers who address the needs of area homeowners. Their volunteers are individuals as well as groups and more than thirty are highly skilled in the specific construction trades.  Their volunteers help more than 250 households each year remain in their homes by making necessary repairs that include:

  • Wheelchair ramp installations
  • Interior and exterior grab bar and railing installations
  • Household maintenance and exterior upgrades, such as painting and weeding
  • Plumbing and electrical repairs

Although the number of households we serve has doubled over the past three years, so has our waiting list. For example, there are more than 115 people on the wheelchair waiting list.  We depend on tax-deductible cash contributions and donated materials as well as volunteers.

Your business, organization or service project is a great fit for Renew Crew. Spend time working to improve the living conditions of those in need.
