This is the 3rd of a 3 part workshop.

Our first Continuity of Operations Planning session in mid-November was an eye opener for all of us in attendance!  (If you missed it I have a few of the pamphlets that were handed out and I'll bring to the third session.)

There have been two documents provided thus far.  The first is the PowerPoint that our presenter used during the first session - Continuity of Operations Planning (COOP).  The second is the Template (our homework for the second session) that we will help us to build a COOP plan for our association.

The 2nd and 3rd session are planned to be more interactive while we work through the template that we have started prior to the sessions.  We can expand on our individual work including what others may have thought of that we may not have.

The instructor is Anna M. McRay, VaPEM, Deputy Coordinator of Emergency Management at the Henrico County Division of Fire.

Bring a 1-2" 3 ring notebook (this will get us started) with a few tabs. We are creating as we go so we'll write on them to start and then you can organize as you see fit. Each association and each meeting is different, so if we can come up with a template that can then be customized going forward, we'll have an emergency plan in place when needed. The room has WiFi access, so if you prefer to bring a laptop or tablet to take notes, feel free.

We are going to try to make this as easy as possible for us to accomplish. Our instructor knows the task can be overwhelming, but she has great insight and experience to share with us so we can be prepared and hopefully never use this body of knowledge we will obtain.
